Michael Garvin Ceilidh Band

About Michael Garvin and the Ardmhor Ceilidh Band

Michael has been playing the accordion from a very young age and was taught in Glasgow in the Classical style. However, many annual holidays to the Island of Barra gave him the opportunity to play at ceilidhs and dances where he acquired a "West Coast" style of playing. So much so that he was soon to win the accordion competition at the National Mod in Inverness.

Joanie is from Oban, Argyll, and has also played from a young age. She has won the Scotland Fiddle Championships at Perth and Musselburgh. More recently she has judged at the Glenfiddich Awards Championships at Blair Atholl.

Based in Oban, about 95 miles west of Glasgow, most of their work is between the Glasgow area and the West Coast. However as you can see from their foreign travel, distance is no object.
